We love the variety of activities that are available at Stinchcomb Wildlife Refuge.

These include up-close animal encounters with elephants, tortoises, and sea lions, carousel rides, and flatwater paddling.

You can easily rent a kayak or stand-up paddleboard from Riversport Adventure Park at Lake Overholser to enjoy exploring this serene environment.

Adorning the Oklahoma City skyline, the Wheeler Ferris wheel used to call the Santa Monica Pier in California home before moving to Oklahoma.

In addition to the Ferris wheel, the area also has several food trucks, making it a great evening out in the city.

With a low admission fee, it’s a must-see for anyone visiting the gardens and was one of my favorite things in Oklahoma City!

The famous Route 66 highway stretches from Chicago to Los Angeles and runs right through Oklahoma City.

With that in mind, you must visit some of its iconic landmarks that make Oklahoma City home.

These include the Lake Overholser Bridge, Gold Dome, and Milk Bottle Grocery buildings and the Arcadia Round Barn, a historic landmark with unique domed architecture.

Don’t forget to stop by Pops 66 and Arcadia Barn in Arcadia, as well as the Rock Café in Chandler, for a taste of Americana.

A drive along Route 66 is a nostalgic journey through the heart of the American West and a must-do experience when visiting Oklahoma City.

Snap Photos at the Famous Womb Art Complex

The Womb is an art complex in Oklahoma City that houses the new permanent immersive art installation called “Mix-Tape.”

This hand-crafted exhibition transforms classic autobiographies into an immersive experience that is like no other.

We loved strolling through the Plaza District to explore the stunning street art before grabbing a bite to eat in this fun neighborhood.

In addition to the street art, the indoor gallery Graff Roots teaches about the city’s graffiti history.

If you haven’t realized it yet, Oklahoma City has a huge art scene.

You can explore everything from paintings and sculptures to photography here, making the Paseo Arts District a true gem.

One of my favorite collections is the Chihuly glass collection; it is amazing.

If you are traveling with little ones, they will love the museum’s interactive activities for kids, such as the hands-on projects at Drop-In Art Saturdays.

Reflect at the Oklahoma City National Memorial and Museum

During your time in Oklahoma City, take a moment to remember those affected by the tragic bombing of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building by visiting the Oklahoma City National Memorial and Museum.

The museum’s beautiful outdoor memorial offers a place to reflect on that fateful day and offer hope to those affected by it.

The outdoor area houses 168 empty chairs, each representing one life taken by the terribly Oklahoma City bombing.

Inside the interactive museum, you will find exhibits dedicated to the stories of the survivors and the first responders.

The beautiful State Capital and the nearby Oklahoma History Center are the perfect places to learn more about the history of the state of Oklahoma and Oklahoma City.
